Shocking Update: Princess Anne Rushed to Hospital After Home Incident!
Princess Anne, who is King Charles’ younger sister, has been taken to the hospital after she got minor injuries and a concussion in an accident at her home, Buckingham Palace confirmed.
The Palace released a statement today saying Anne, 73, was hospitalized as a precaution after getting hurt, but they didn’t say exactly what happened.
According to CNN, a source said the princess was walking near horses on her estate in Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, western England, when the incident happened.
The exact cause of her injuries hasn’t been made public yet, but Princess Anne’s medical team said her injuries are consistent with possibly getting hit by a horse’s head or legs.
“The Princess Royal has minor injuries and a concussion from an incident at the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday.
“She is in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precaution for observation and is expected to recover fully and quickly.”
Emergency services rushed to Anne’s estate where they provided medical care at the scene before taking her to Southmead Hospital for tests, treatment, and observation.
The Palace also said that King Charles “has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.”
As a senior member of the Royal Family, Princess Anne has always been in the public eye. She’s not known for making headlines through her work, but more for her personal life and interests.
In her younger years, Anne focused more on enjoying herself than on her royal duties. But over time, she became – and still is – one of the hardest-working members of the royal family.
In 1969, when Princess Anne was 18 years old, she started doing official duties as part of the royal family. But she also had many other interests. At just 11 years old, she began competing in horse riding competitions. She even won a jumping event organized by the Queen at Windsor Home Park, as mentioned in the book Anne, the Princess Royal.
She continued riding horses while attending Beneden School privately. She also spent a lot of time trying different horses at the Moat House Riding School.
“I thought if I was going to do anything outside of the royal family, horses would probably be the best way,” Princess Anne told royal author Katie Nicholl for Vanity Fair.
“But then you have to find the right horse at the right time. The first horse I rode was actually bred for polo and wasn’t supposed to be an event horse, but it worked out well, so that was very satisfying. But I always knew it wouldn’t last forever.”
