WATCH: Trump Pushes Plan To Eliminate Tax On Social Security Income
Speaking during his campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, August 17, former President Donald Trump did his fair share of criticizing the left, but also made some promises of his own,such as reiterating his pledge to eliminate taxes on Social Security income as a way of helping seniors deal with inflation.
That came as Trump spoke about tax cuts and economic relief for struggling American families. In addition to pledging to remove the tax on Social Security income, Trump promised to push along other sorts of relief, such as making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of his first administration permanent and eliminating taxes on tips.
Making those other pledges, Trump told the cheering crowd, “To get economic relief to workers and families, I will make the Trump tax cuts permanent, and we will have no tax on tips, which she copied. You all know by now, she came out a few days ago and she said, ‘There will be no tax on…’ I said, ‘I said that months ago.’”
He then noted that he also wants to remove taxes on Social Security income, which is a tax relief idea that Harris is yet to copy. He said, “But, here’s one that she hasn’t copied yet. To help seniors on fixed incomes who are suffering the ravages of horrible inflation caused by Crooked Joe and Kamala, there will be no tax on social security.”
Trump then said that he would actually get such a tax cut done, as he did with the tax cuts in his first administration, whereas the Democrats might mimic his pledges but won’t follow through on getting them done. He said, “And, I get it done. I will get it done. They won’t. They haven’t even promised it to you, but, they won’t get it done if they do.”
Former President Trump, writing about the Wilkes-Barre rally on Truth Social, said, roasting Kamala for how she tried to characterize the turnout at his rally, “We had to turn away lots of people yesterday in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, but Comrade Kamala Harris’ Social Media Operation showed empty seats, long before the Rally started, early in the afternoon when, in actuality, we had to turn away 11,500 people!”
He continued, sounding off on her and other top Democrats, “She’s a Crooked Radical Left Politician, and always will be! Everything she touches turns bad, just like California, and San Francisco before it – as is the case with all Marxists. She should have never been Vice President, and had to stage a COUP of Joe Biden, with her America-hating friends, Barrack Hussein Obama, Crazy Nancy Pelosi, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and the rest.”
Concluding, he then characterized Kamala as a communist, saying, “Comrade Kamala is a STONE COLD LOSER, she will FAIL and, if she doesn’t, our Country will cease to exist as we know it, turning into a Communist, Crime Ridden Garbage Dump. November 5th will be the Most Important Date in the History of the U.S.A. It’s as simple as that!”
